Waning, my dog said
goodbye, and I understand
why I must hope for
heaven for dogs, for without,
I want to hang, dead as mud.

Very sorry Carl, very sorry. Though I do not believe in life after death I somehow fully expect a joyous reunion.

Thank you for your comment. I probably don’t believe either, but I cannot face myself if the last thing that happened to that beautiful soul is me fooling him and choosing to end his life.

Recently same with beloved cat – I hear you Carl and am sorry for your loss – our connection with the animal world is stronger than we think possible – not sure about a heaven for our animal friends, or for us, but do know our dogs and cats leave paw prints in our hearts and precious teachings about love…

Thank you, John. I remember about your cat. Time may start to dissipate the pain. He still dances around in my heart.

Oh! So sad, Carl. I can’t imagine losing Maximus, and, yes, I think I would need to believe in something..

Very sorry, Carl. Such beautiful words to describe such immense loss…
I believe that pets are some kind of angles that come to us to help us through difficult times and keep us company, reminding us of love and so much more. When they have done their duty, they leave for their next mission. 🙂 Leaving memories of so many blessings with us.

Thank you so much for your comment. I appreciate it. I like what you believe, and Buddy fulfilled one heck of a mission for us. He’s more than qualified for the next.
